How much does it cost?
Wessex PAT Testing offer PAT testing across Dorset, but if you only have a small number of items, try our While You Wait/Drop Off service at our workshop in Milborne St Andrew, near Blandford (DT11) we will test for £3.50 an item (Min £10.00).
What is PAT Testing?
Portable Appliance Testing is the regular checking and examination of portable electrical appliances to make sure they are safe to use in a working environment.
Do I need to test?
It is an employers duty under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure the welfare of all employees. This includes ensuring all equipment is safe to use.
Is there legislation?
PAT Testing is not a legal requirement although the law states that any electrical equipment in the workplace is regularly maintained and not pose any danger, the penalty for not meeting legal obligations on electrical appliance safety can be as high as 2 years’ imprisonment.
An unlimited financial penalty can be applied by the Court
